‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Star Jiggly Caliente Dies at 44

Bianca Castro-Arabejo — known to millions as Jiggly Caliente — has died at the age of 44.

According to a statement released by her family, the beloved performer and activist passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 AM, surrounded by loved ones.

“She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world,” her family said, describing Castro-Arabejo’s legacy as one of “love, courage, and light.”

Born on November 29, 1980, Castro-Arabejo rose to fame as a standout contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4. Her humor, charisma, and fierce spirit quickly made her a fan favorite. She returned to the franchise in 2021 for RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars Season 6 and later served as a judge on Drag Race Philippines, helping to shape and inspire a new generation of drag performers.

Just weeks before her death, it had been revealed that Caliente had suffered a serious health setback. Following a severe infection, she was hospitalized and underwent the amputation of most of her right leg. Her family at the time shared that her recovery would be “extensive,” and Caliente withdrew from upcoming public appearances, including her judging role on Drag Race Philippines.

The announcement of her passing has sparked an immediate outpouring of love and grief from the drag and LGBTQ+ communities. Fellow Drag Race alum Bianca Del Rio posted, “Sending all the love, Jiggles,” while JuJuBee wrote, “I love you so much. Can’t wait to see you again.”

Throughout her career, Jiggly Caliente was more than just a celebrated performer. She was a proud transgender woman, a resilient voice for LGBTQ+ rights, and a beacon of positivity in the face of adversity. Her openness about her personal journey — including her public coming out and transformation — inspired countless fans around the world.

“I’m going to be the shadiest one of the season, I can see it,” she once famously quipped during her Drag Race run. “Definitely more glam than Season 4 because I got the money now. She can afford nice things now!”

Beyond the stage and screen, Castro-Arabejo’s legacy will live on in the spaces she helped create — spaces of love, authenticity, and fierce self-expression.

“She will be deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered,” her family said.
