For nearly a year, actor Ashton Kutcher says he lived through a medical nightmare that changed his life forever.
The Hollywood star has now revealed he suffered from a rare autoimmune disease called vasculitis — a condition so severe that it temporarily robbed him of his vision, hearing, and ability to walk.
And doctors say the illness can become deadly if not caught in time.
Speaking publicly about the ordeal, Kutcher described how the disease suddenly attacked his body and completely disrupted his life.
“I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again,” he recalled thinking.
“I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again. I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to walk again.”
The shocking revelation stunned fans around the world after the actor explained that the illness affected his equilibrium and basic functioning for months.
According to medical experts, vasculitis is a rare autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks blood vessels, causing dangerous inflammation throughout the body.
The disease can damage arteries, restrict blood flow, and in severe cases cause permanent organ damage, stroke, blindness, kidney failure, or even death.
