Nancy Maces Shocking Accusation Against Mysterious Fourth Man Crumbles Instantly

In a startling twist to an already complex legal case, Representative Nancy Mace’s allegations against a fourth man involved in a 2018 sexual assault have crumbled under scrutiny. While three men have been arrested in connection with the alleged crime, a prosecutor has stated that Brian Musgrave should never have been implicated at all.

The charges stem from an incident on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, where a woman was reportedly assaulted after being incapacitated. The woman, who was 23 at the time, had suffered alcohol-related impairment, leading to her unconscious state.

Among the three arrested are Patrick Bryant, who at one point was engaged to Mace, Eric Bowman, and John Osbourne. Bryant faces one count of voyeurism, while Bowman has been charged with voyeurism, obstruction of justice, and disclosing a victim’s identity. Osbourne is charged with first-degree assault and battery, along with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Musgrave, however, has emerged largely unscathed from these accusations. A recent report reveals that prosecutors found “zero evidence” linking him to the crime and labeled Mace’s assertions as damaging to the credibility of the investigation.

Scarlett Wilson, the Ninth Circuit Solicitor overseeing the case, expressed concerns over Mace’s allegations against Musgrave. In a review, she stated, “Mace’s spurious claims against Musgrave demonstrate the severe credibility complications that taint some of the evidence underlying other allegations.”

Wilson clarified that while her office supported the arrests of Bryant, Bowman, and Osbourne, they did not find sufficient grounds for Musgrave’s involvement. “Nancy Mace only provided you questions and suppositions as to Musgrave’s involvement in crimes she claims have been committed by his friends and colleagues,” she wrote. Mace had previously marked Musgrave as a “criminal and a predator,” despite a lack of evidence to support such claims.

The incident in question involved a security camera witness who allegedly overheard conversations suggesting an agreement among the three men to assault the intoxicated woman while she was incapacitated. Reports indicate that Bryant, Bowman, and Osbourne took turns recording their actions, which escalated into serious criminal charges.

The woman only recently became aware that she had been assaulted, developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result. She revealed this in a statement read in court, shedding light on the long-lasting impacts of trauma that can follow such incidents.

Compounding the situation, Bowman’s home was the subject of a search warrant in 2025 during the ongoing investigation, where authorities seized phones and other evidence.

During this time, Mace took to the House floor to publicly accuse all four men of being involved in the assault, bringing national attention to the case. Notably, she was absent during the last hearing, but her advocacy for victims’ rights continues unabated.

Critics argue that Mace’s handling of the allegations against Musgrave has significant implications for the ongoing judicial process. Some believe her public statements may have distracted from the serious nature of the charges against the other men.

The complex nature of this case raises critical questions about credibility and accountability in the wake of such devastating accusations. With the legal proceedings still ongoing for the three arrested men, Mace’s allegations are now under intense scrutiny.

While the ongoing case is not just a matter of public interest, it underscores the broader societal issues surrounding sexual assault, victim advocacy, and the criminal justice system. Advocates express hope that these proceedings may lead to greater awareness and improvements in how such cases are handled.

As the legal landscape evolves for those involved, the fallout from Mace’s accusations and the broader implications of the case itself will likely remain a topic of significant public discussion.

The community surrounding Sullivan’s Island is left grappling with the gravity of these allegations and the unresolved issues of justice and victim rights. Only time will reveal the full impact of these events on all parties involved.

For now, as investigations continue and trials loom, all eyes remain on the courtroom where these critical narratives are playing out, and the voices of the victims echo in an effort to seek justice.
