MAGA Suddenly Turns on Kyle Rittenhouse After Shock Endorsement Sparks Civil War

For years, Kyle Rittenhouse was treated like a hero in large parts of the MAGA movement.

Now, suddenly, many of the same voices who once defended him are turning against him with shocking speed.

And the reason is triggering yet another brutal civil war inside Trump-world politics.

The backlash exploded after Rittenhouse publicly endorsed Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie ahead of the state’s heated Republican primary battle.

Speaking during a “day at the range” event in Burlington, Kentucky, on May 16, Rittenhouse praised Massie in dramatic fashion.

“The greatest congressman, I believe, in a very long time,” Rittenhouse said.

He dismissed attacks against Massie as “lies” and praised the Republican lawmaker for voting conservative “92% of the time.”

Then came the line that especially ignited MAGA fury.

“The 8% he isn’t, he’s voting to expose pedophiles,” Rittenhouse added — referencing Massie’s support for the Epstein Files Transparency Act, legislation that has reportedly infuriated President Donald Trump.

That endorsement immediately placed Rittenhouse directly against Trump in one of the Republican Party’s nastiest internal battles.

Trump has aggressively targeted Massie in recent days after the congressman voted against Trump’s massive “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

The president even recruited retired Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein to challenge Massie politically and has spent days publicly attacking the Kentucky Republican online.

So when Rittenhouse sided with Massie, many MAGA influencers reacted with outright rage.

The attacks quickly became vicious.

MAGA commentator Vince Langman posted:

“Wow! Kyle Rittenhouse turned out to be a complete d—–bag, we should’ve left him to the liberal wolves in 2020!”

The post stunned many online because Rittenhouse had long been embraced by conservatives as a symbol of resistance against the political left following his acquittal in the 2020 Kenosha shootings case.

Rittenhouse responded by posting screenshots showing Langman had praised him enthusiastically in the past — highlighting how quickly the political loyalty shift had happened.

Popular pro-Trump influencer Catturd also joined the backlash.

“Remember when I warned everyone about him and everybody threw a fit years ago,” the account posted.

“It’s tiring being so right all the time.”

But not everyone inside MAGA agreed with the pile-on.

Former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis unexpectedly defended Rittenhouse while sharply criticizing the movement itself.

Calling the attacks “predictably gross behavior,” Ellis accused parts of MAGA of becoming “a godless populist movement.”

“These morons ARE the leftist wolves, just in ‘MAGA’ clothing,” she wrote.

The public meltdown reflects a deeper fracture increasingly spreading across Trump-world politics.

As Trump intensifies his loyalty demands inside the Republican Party, even longtime conservative icons and MAGA favorites are discovering how quickly they can become targets if they support the wrong person.

Observers online described the Rittenhouse backlash as one of the clearest examples yet of how personality loyalty around Trump has overtaken traditional ideological alliances within parts of the movement.

For critics, the speed of the reversal was especially striking.

A figure once fiercely protected by MAGA influencers is now suddenly being attacked as a traitor — all because he backed a Republican congressman Trump dislikes.

And with the 2026 elections approaching, the growing internal warfare inside MAGA circles appears to be getting uglier by the day.
