What was supposed to be a dream Disney vacation turned into chaos, confusion, and panic for hundreds of passengers after Disney Cruise Line abruptly canceled a voyage — only after families had already boarded the ship and settled into their cabins.
Now furious guests are speaking out after being stranded thousands of miles from home in Singapore.
Passengers aboard the brand-new Disney Adventure say they spent more than a full day trapped in uncertainty before finally learning the entire sailing had been canceled because of serious mechanical problems.
And for many families traveling with children, the experience quickly became a nightmare.

According to reports, guests boarded the massive Disney Adventure on May 7 expecting a four-night cruise departing from Singapore. Hours later, however, the ship’s captain reportedly announced there were technical problems and passengers should wait for updates.
At first, many believed the delay would be temporary.
A passenger posting updates online said guests were repeatedly told the ship would “set sail soon.”
But as the hours dragged on, frustration exploded.
“Midnight now. We’ve been waiting here since 2 p.m. and they have no update for us,” one passenger reportedly wrote online. “What’s even worse is they’ve shut down all kitchens, coffee, etc.”
Then came the devastating announcement.
Roughly 26 hours after passengers originally boarded, Disney informed guests the entire voyage had been canceled because engineers could not resolve the mechanical issue in time.
Families were suddenly forced to disembark and scramble to reorganize flights, hotels, transportation, childcare plans, and vacation schedules.
Many passengers had reportedly traveled internationally and spent months — or even years — planning the expensive Disney cruise experience.
Disney later confirmed the ship remained docked in Singapore while crews continued attempting repairs.
In a statement, Disney Cruise Line apologized and said the company was working directly with guests to address travel disruptions.

The company is reportedly offering passengers full refunds, complimentary hotel stays, reimbursement assistance, and a 50% discount toward a future Disney cruise.
Still, many guests online argued the compensation was not nearly enough considering the stress, cost, and disruption involved.
One frustrated commenter called the situation “wild,” while another questioned why the cruise ship seemingly lacked proper maintenance downtime despite operating on a nonstop boarding schedule.
Others worried the incident could damage confidence in the Disney Adventure itself, which launched as Disney’s major flagship cruise project in Asia through a partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board.
The ship was supposed to represent Disney’s expanding dominance in the Asia-Pacific tourism market.
Instead, its newest voyage has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

Social media quickly filled with videos, passenger complaints, and shocked reactions from travelers imagining what it would feel like to arrive for a dream vacation only to be thrown off the ship after boarding.
And while Disney says the next scheduled voyage is still expected to depart normally, many online are now wondering whether deeper problems may be hiding beneath the surface of the luxury cruise giant’s newest attraction.
For families left stranded in Singapore, however, the magical vacation they imagined is already over.
