If you’re a current or former AT&T customer, you could soon be entitled to a payout of up to $7,500 — the result of a staggering $177 million settlement over two devastating data breaches that exposed millions of Americans’ most sensitive information.
The telecom giant confirmed it has reached a proposed deal to resolve two class-action lawsuits stemming from breaches in 2024 that impacted tens of millions of accounts and flooded the dark web with stolen personal data. The settlement is still awaiting court approval, with a final hearing set for December 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Two Hacks, Millions Exposed
The first breach, revealed in March 2024, compromised the personal information of 73 million current and former customers — including Social Security numbers and birth dates. Hackers reportedly sold and shared this data across criminal networks online.
Just months later, in July 2024, a second breach hit — one that AT&T admits compromised the call and text records of “nearly all” of its customers. These logs were allegedly downloaded by hackers and stored on a third-party platform, triggering a federal warning to protect the identities of confidential informants.

Who Qualifies — and How Much Can You Get?
The proposed settlement breaks down as follows:
- March 2024 breach victims: Eligible for up to $5,000 in compensation for losses dating back to 2019.
- July 2024 breach victims: Eligible for up to $2,500 for losses incurred on or after April 14, 2024.
- Victims of both breaches: Eligible for a maximum of $7,500.
To qualify, customers must provide documentation showing their losses were “fairly traceable” to the breaches.
How to File Your Claim
Eligible customers will receive an official email from attsettlement@e.emailksa.com (Kroll Settlement Administration). Those unsure about eligibility can call (833) 890-4930 for verification.
Claims must be submitted online at telecomdatasettlement.com by November 18, 2025.
Important: Filing a claim means you forfeit your right to sue AT&T over the breaches.
When Will the Money Arrive?
Payouts are unlikely before the end of 2025. The timeline could be pushed back if appeals are filed after the December hearing, or while claims are being processed.

A Wake-Up Call for Consumers
The AT&T breaches join a growing list of high-profile cyberattacks targeting major corporations. Experts warn that the scope of the 2024 breaches — affecting nearly the entire AT&T customer base — underscores how vulnerable Americans’ private data remains.
Until the settlement is finalized, AT&T customers are urged to monitor their financial accounts, change passwords, and stay alert to possible phishing attempts linked to the stolen data.
Bottom line: If you were an AT&T customer in recent years, this is one email you can’t afford to ignore.
