Chaos in the Hallway: Arkansas Kindergarten Graduation Erupts in Wild Parental Brawl as Terrified Kids Beg “Stop!”

In what was supposed to be a joyful rite of passage for young children, chaos took center stage at Faulk Elementary School in West Memphis, Arkansas. A kindergarten graduation turned into a nightmare when a group of adults erupted into a violent hallway brawl — while horrified five-year-olds screamed and begged for it to end.

The shocking incident took place on Wednesday, May 28, during what should have been a celebration filled with smiles, tiny caps and gowns, and proud parents capturing one of their children’s earliest milestones. Instead, school officials and police were left scrambling after multiple parents began trading punches in a crowded corridor, just feet away from frightened children.

The violence was caught on camera and shared with local station WREG, showing several men and women hurling punches while others screamed and rushed to pull children out of harm’s way. In one particularly disturbing clip, the high-pitched cries of children pleading “Stop!” echoed through the school hallways as the brawl escalated.

Several adults throw punches at each other during the Faulk Elementary School kindergarten graduation on May 28, 2025.

Two taller men appeared to be trying to separate the women at first, but quickly became part of the fight themselves, throwing powerful punches in front of a sea of stunned bystanders. As the melee continued, some parents risked their own safety to break up the conflict, eventually managing to separate the warring parties.

No injuries were reported, but the emotional toll on the children was unmistakable. Many were left crying, clinging to teachers and guardians for comfort, their big day shattered by adult violence.

The cause of the altercation has not been disclosed, and as of now, no arrests have been made. However, the West Memphis School District is not taking the matter lightly. Superintendent Eric Foister expressed outrage over the behavior, describing it as “unacceptable” and promising full cooperation with law enforcement.

The mad brawl broke out in the school’s hallway as frightened children screamed.

“We have our own camera system with sound,” Foister told Fox 13 Memphis. “We have gathered all the footage. Obviously, we are a small community, so we have the names.”

According to school officials, five of the adults involved in the fight were initially unidentified. Their names have since been turned over to police, and further consequences are expected. The district reiterated its “zero-tolerance” policy for any behavior that threatens the safety of students and staff.

“The safety and security of our students, staff, and school campuses remain our top priority,” the school district said in a statement. “We have zero tolerance for any behavior by parents, students, staff, or visitors that disrupts the learning environment or threatens the well-being of anyone on school grounds.”

Superintendent Foister went further, announcing immediate bans for all adults involved. “I’m also going to ban you from our school property,” he said. “If you’re a parent, the only access you’ll have is dropping off or picking up your child.”

The kindergarten graduation was held at West Memphis School District’s Faulk Elementary.

One local woman told reporters that criminal charges were warranted. “It shouldn’t be happening around children, especially,” she said. “These are grown folks at a kids’ graduation. All of them need to be held accountable for it.”

Despite the absence of physical injuries, many parents and community members are deeply concerned about the psychological impact this may have had on the children. Kindergarten graduation is typically a moment of celebration, a joyful memory to last a lifetime. For many Faulk Elementary students, however, it became a scene of fear and trauma.

Foister emphasized that the district will press all available legal charges, vowing accountability for those responsible.

School officials said five of the adults involved in the brawl were unidentified and their names were given to police.

“You come into our buildings and put the safety and well-being of our students and staff in jeopardy, I’m going to hold you to the fullest accountability,” he said firmly. “I’m working with our local law enforcement, and I’m going to press any and all charges that I can.”

As the community of West Memphis reels from the disgraceful incident, questions remain: How did something so senseless erupt at an event meant for children? And what steps can be taken to ensure that school celebrations are never again marred by such reckless adult behavior?

For now, the district is hoping to move forward with a renewed focus on student safety — and a very public reminder that childish behavior has no place in a kindergarten hallway.
