EXCLUSIVE: From Peak Fitness to Permanent Heart Damage – British Cyclist Speaks Out After Devastating Reaction to Moderna Vaccine

Danielle Pieton once lived the dream of many. At 48, she was a super fit road cyclist, bursting with energy, and had just relocated to the French Alps with her partner to launch a new business and embrace a new chapter of life. But in January 2022, a single moment changed everything.

That moment was a Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.

Within hours of receiving the jab, Danielle’s body began to shut down. Chest pain, dizziness, and breathlessness struck fast and hard, prompting a frantic rush to hospital. She would remain in intensive cardiac care for two weeks. By the time she left, she had a permanent pacemaker—and a new, terrifying diagnosis: complete heart block.

Now 51, Danielle is learning to live with what doctors have diagnosed as Post-Vaccine Syndrome (PVS)—a condition with no known cure. “I spent over two years wanting to be dead,” she told MailOnline, “because the symptoms were so dreadful.”

What started as dizziness and fatigue evolved into a list of symptoms as long as it was frightening: chest pain, numbness in her face and feet, blurred vision, muscle loss, breathlessness, intense head pressure, and a constant sense that something had gone catastrophically wrong inside her body.

Photos taken before her illness show a vibrant, athletic woman at the peak of health. After the vaccine, however, she found herself unable to walk without assistance, let alone ride a bike or run her business.

“I thought my head was going to explode,” she said. “There were days I just wanted to exit my body.”

From Dream to Nightmare

Just months before the jab, Danielle had moved from Cornwall to Séez, a picturesque village in the French Alps, with her partner. They were building a life together—one centered around adventure, fitness, and entrepreneurship.

But instead of opening new doors, the vaccine slammed them shut.

In the days following her hospitalisation, she was left without clear answers. Specialists ran lumbar punctures, MRIs, and tried a series of medications. She was prescribed six months of vestibular rehabilitation and another half-year of vision therapy, alongside grueling sessions of physical and muscle rehab.

Nothing reversed the damage.

“I’m still dizzy, still breathless, and still living with pain,” she said. “But now, after three years, I’m determined to do as much as I can. I can walk most days, and I can ride an e-bike.”

While Danielle had received two Pfizer vaccines earlier in 2021 without issue, she believes it was the Moderna shot that triggered her condition. “There was no indication anything was wrong until that day,” she explained.

A Growing Concern

Danielle’s story isn’t isolated. Thousands across the globe have reported long-term health complications following Covid-19 vaccinations. And now, top researchers are beginning to take a closer look.

Just last month, scientists at Yale University identified a troubling new condition they call “Post-Vaccination Syndrome.” Early signs of this syndrome include brain fog, tinnitus, dizziness, and severe exercise intolerance—echoing Danielle’s experience almost symptom for symptom.

Just a few years ago, Ms Pieton was a super fit road cyclist who had just achieved her long-held dream of moving to France

While researchers stress that vaccines have saved millions of lives during the pandemic, they also acknowledge that rare, severe side effects remain under-explored and, in many cases, underreported.

The Yale research team plans to study how widespread the syndrome is and who may be most at risk. For sufferers like Danielle, the findings can’t come soon enough.

“I’m not anti-vaccine,” Danielle clarified. “But people need to be aware that complications exist. I was healthy, athletic—and now I’m managing a condition that has taken years from me.”

Seeking Answers, and Peace

Danielle’s days are now a balance between managing her symptoms and trying to rebuild the life she once had. There are moments of strength, like when she gets back on her bike—even if it’s now electric.

But there are also moments of heartbreak. “There are still days I’m bedridden. I just cannot cope with the sensations going around in my body.”

The Brit was excitedly beginning her new life abroad, having just set up a successful business with her partner

She’s also frustrated by the lack of acknowledgment and clarity. “Doctors still don’t fully understand what happened to me. I’m living in a body I don’t recognise, and I didn’t ask for this.”

For now, Danielle is focused on pushing forward, and on telling her story in the hope that others like her are heard—and believed.

“I’m trying to live my best life,” she said. “But the truth is, it’s been a battle every single day.”
