EXCLUSIVE: Wedding Bells in Malibu? David Duchovny, 64, Sparks Marriage Rumors with 31-Year-Old Girlfriend as They Flash Matching Rings

Fans of The X-Files star David Duchovny are buzzing with speculation after the actor was spotted walking hand-in-hand with his longtime girlfriend Monique Pendleberry, both wearing what appear to be wedding rings. The couple, who have kept their romance largely out of the public spotlight since 2017, were seen strolling casually through Malibu — but it was the matching bands on their ring fingers that stole the show.

Duchovny, 64, wore a simple silver band on his left hand, while Pendleberry, 31, donned a sparkling diamond ring alongside a gold band — a combination many recognize as traditional wedding jewelry. Though the couple has made only rare public appearances over the years, this latest sighting has reignited rumors that the pair may have secretly tied the knot.

The DailyMail reached out to Duchovny’s representatives for comment, but so far, no confirmation or denial has been issued.

The quiet nature of their relationship has only added fuel to the intrigue. The couple first met in 2017 at SunLife Organics, a juice bar in Malibu owned by Duchovny’s friend Khalil Rafati. Pendleberry worked there at the time, and the two quickly formed a bond that has now lasted for eight years.

While the couple may have kept a low profile, this isn’t their first time attracting media attention. They previously walked the red carpet together for the 2023 premiere of Duchovny’s Netflix film You People and also appeared together at the Tribeca Film Festival. Their last major public sighting was in New York in September 2024.

Before his relationship with Pendleberry, Duchovny was married to actress Téa Leoni. The former couple tied the knot in 1997 and were often hailed as a Hollywood power couple for maintaining privacy despite their fame. However, their relationship hit a rough patch in 2008 when Duchovny voluntarily entered rehab for sex addiction — a move that made headlines and led to a temporary split.

They reunited briefly in 2011, but ultimately finalized their divorce in 2014 after 17 years of marriage. The two share two children: daughter Madelaine West Duchovny, 24, who is following in her parents’ footsteps as an actress, and son Kyd Miller Duchovny, 21, who keeps a lower profile.

As Duchovny possibly steps into a new chapter of his personal life, he’s also making major changes in his professional and real estate ventures. The actor recently listed his stunning Malibu estate — complete with a refurbished train caboose turned guest house — for a whopping $12.5 million. He originally purchased the one-acre property in the exclusive Point Dume neighborhood in 2016 for $4.75 million after renting it from The X-Files creator Chris Carter.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Duchovny spoke with pride about restoring the train car, which features a living and sleeping space, kitchen, bathroom, and even a rooftop deck. “It’s one of the things I’m most proud of that I’ve ever developed in my life,” he said.

He razed the old house on the lot and invested over $7 million into constructing a modern 3,580-square-foot home, which he now shares with Pendleberry and their two dogs, Brick and Rookie. Surrounded by Hollywood elite and just steps from the beach, the estate is a symbol of Duchovny’s quieter, more settled life outside of Hollywood’s chaos.

But this latest outing—with both Duchovny and Pendleberry flashing bands on their ring fingers—has fans buzzing once again

Despite keeping their romance largely out of the tabloids, Duchovny and Pendleberry’s understated public appearances — and now the suspicious sparkle of their rings — suggest that this famously private couple may have taken their commitment to the next level.

Whether they’ve tied the knot or are simply testing the waters of what’s to come, one thing is clear: David Duchovny’s latest chapter is about more than just real estate deals and red carpets — it could be about love, second chances, and new beginnings.
