Priscilla Presley Dispels Rumors of Underage Relationship with Elvis at Venice Film Festival

Priscilla Presley, former wife of the legendary Elvis Presley, took a bold stand against persistent rumors surrounding her relationship with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll during a press conference at the Venice Film Festival on Monday. The event preceded the screening of Sofia Coppola’s new film, aptly titled ‘Priscilla,’ which is based on her 1985 memoir ‘Elvis and Me’ and explores the tumultuous love story between Priscilla and Elvis Presley.

The central question that has plagued Priscilla’s life for decades revolves around the nature of her relationship with Elvis when she was just 14 years old and he was 24. In an unambiguous statement, Priscilla vehemently denied that their relationship had turned sexual at that age.

“People think, ‘Oh, it was sex.’ No, it wasn’t,” the pop culture icon asserted during the press conference. “I never had sex with him. He was very kind, very soft, very loving, but he also respected the fact I was only 14 years old. We were more in line in thought, and that was our relationship.”

Priscilla went on to explain that the connection between her and Elvis was built on communication and shared interests, emphasizing that he “respected” her age. The pair initially met on a military base in Germany, and their bond was instantaneous.

“We felt as if we could talk to one another,” Priscilla recounted, according to People magazine. “What made Elvis drawn to me was the fact I would listen to him and let him pour his heart to me.”

This revelation comes as a surprise to many, as the widely circulated narrative of their relationship often hinted at an intimate involvement at an early age. Priscilla’s candid denial aims to set the record straight and shed light on the true nature of their bond, one rooted in friendship and shared experiences.

Priscilla Presley further shared her deep affection for Elvis, referring to him as “the love of my life,” even as she discussed her decision to divorce him in 1972.

“It’s very difficult to sit and watch a film about you and about your life and about your love,” she told reporters, reflecting on the upcoming film that revisits her past.

Coppola’s highly anticipated movie ‘Priscilla’ stars Jacob Elordi, 26, and Cailee Spaeny, 25, portraying the iconic roles of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, respectively. The film is expected to provide audiences with a fresh perspective on a love story that has intrigued fans for generations.
